Thurday it seemed like every other lecture I went to, someone was releasing a typeface! It started out with Peter Biľak, when he released in the morning Elementar, a parametric typeface with a whoping 420 fonts, concepted by t]m alumnus Gustavo Ferreira (@hipertipo).

The second came when Kris Sowersby (@klimtypefoundry) took the stage in the afternoon and announced that he will be releasing Calibre and Metric, two typefaces designed to be Geometric in style, but differ in key letters and thus look like two completely different typefaces. The project was initially inspired by the wonderful street signs they have in Berlin.

The third was František Štorm, who came right after Kris and gave a really hilarious presentation. He released the sans version of his Andulka family. I could use an image from his website to show you, but I rather would like to use a slide from his presentation:

When I brought up the fact that there were so many releases on Thursday to Peter Biľak, he mentioned that it was more than a coincidence, having a conference to present at is a good form of motivation to put in the work to try to finish a project that had been lingering, as most type projects do.
If there were any more typefaces released during Typo, let me know! I would love to add them. Get me on Twitter, @colinmford.
